Hard week for my kids this week.

Greta and Ruby
I was able to spend a little time with Greta and Ruby this week.  Crista had to go to the hospital for a procedure, so I helped out for the day.  I was sorry I didn't spend the night and help her a little the next day, too.
While I was in Logan I got a call from Adrienne--on her way to Primary Children's hospital--again.  This time it was Finn, he fell off a bar stool at the Green's home and had a concussion (exact same accident as he had 2 years ago).  He was throwing up and lethargic, so she took him in.  They watched him for 4 hours and sent him home.  The doctor said, "No swimming, and no activities that could cause a repeat head injury for a week...He will probably have a headache and not feel well
for a few days, so have him take it easy."  This doctor obviously doesn't know Finn.  They got home and the first thing he said was, "Can we go swimming?"  He certainly didn't take it easy.  He and Ollie made me super nervous when they were over to my house on Friday.  They kept trying to wrestle and I was so afraid Finn would hurt his head.

Poor Nick and Hyeji, they both got the stomach flu at the end of our Lake Powell trip last weekend and spent most of the week sick.  Effie caught the bug, too

On a happier note.  Max turned 5 on Wednesday.  Happy Birthday Max.  Elise put lots of time into the decorations and activities.  It was obvious they had a blast.

I believe he got the fabric in the Phillippines

Roy and I saw a really fun play at the Legacy Centerpoint Theater this week.  Crazy for You.  The talent was amazing.  It made both of us want to go again and see the other cast.

Roy spent the weekend at his annual Ham Radio camp.

Lake Powell and Father's Day

First, I missed a couple of photos from last week:
I missed this darling picture last week.  This is
Ila and Verl at the ballgame.

Jennie ran the dirty dash with her Fit Body group.  (middle right)

We received some cute pictures from our Texas grand children.

Max--not too happy after some dental work.

Our annual Lake Powell trip was fabulous, as usual.  This year it was only Roy, Jennie, Caitlyn and me, Plus Nick and Ori, and Hyeji.  We got to know Ori and Hyeji a lot better having them by themselves.  We were constantly amused by Ori-isms, such as: Ori: "Where's Nick." Catharine: "who's Nick?"  Ori:  "You know, Nick." Catharine:  "I don't think I know anyone named Nick."  Ori:  "NICK!  You know...your...your...male boy."  She called her dad Nick the whole trip.  He said she doesn't do it at home.
In a later conversation with Nick:  Nick:  "Ori, you can call me dad."  Ori:  "Okay, Nick."
She was also pretty worried about rattlesnakes, and slightly worried about the fish in the lake.  She still swam, though.  Hyeji and Ori were great together and we got many pictures such as  the following, of the two holding hands wherever we went.

I am hoping that the pictures of our Lake Powell trip tell the rest of the story.

Happy:  I've got my book

The water is low.  The hike to rainbow bridge was approximately a mile.  It was HOT.  It was also worth it.

Happy:  I've got my ice cream!

Rock hunt.  Lots of rocks in my pockets.
The rocks here are beautiful and polished.

This pic makes the family trailer we rented look
a lot more spacious than it really was.

Happy:  Hiking

Rock hunt.  We left Nick on this mountain after
we were done hunting rocks on the last day.  Ori asked "Where's Nick"
Catharine "He's still hunting rocks, he'll be okay." Ori:  But something might get him."
Catharine:  "What would get him?"  Ori:  "I don't know.  Anything!"

Happy:  Romance!!!

Ori always made her own sandwich.  For three days she had
snap pea sandwiches--no mayo or condiments.  Just snap peas on bread.
The last day she made a peanut butter sandwich.  Peanut butter and jam
inside the bread--and more on top!  Hyeji made her
own sandwiches, too.  Tomato, lettuce, mayo and bread--lots of bread!

We got home from Lake Powell on Saturday about 5:00.  Dan and Jieun came over to pick up Hyeji and they helped us unload.  We were too tired to have anyone over for dinner on Sunday, but were glad that most of them came over to visit anyway for everyone to wish Roy Happy Father's Day.

Greta never stops eating.
