Happy Easter (another two week letter)

We had a wonderful week in Mexico with Jennie and Caitlyn.  It was slightly overcast a lot of the time, so it was never unbearably hot, and of course, we were never cold.  We received a couple of texts over the course of our trip that showed that those in Utah weren't enjoying such nice weather, in fact, they even had snow while we were gone.  We weren't too unhappy to miss that.  This trip we spent most of our time in the water--the ocean and the underground rivers.  We didn't visit any ruins, other than the ones in Occidental (our resort), and Xcaret, the park that was adjacent to our resort.
We enjoyed Jennie and Caitlyn, but made the mistake of allowing them to use the internet (we didn't know it would be included).  The issue being that only one person (per room) could be signed in at a time.  That caused a few arguments throughout the week.

We got back to reality pretty quickly.  It's kind of a shock to sleep in almost every morning for a week, then get home early Monday morning (12:30 am), then have to get up and get to work and school, etc.  It's probably easiest for me, since I don't have anywhere I absolutely have to be--except fun stuff like a skating lesson and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

We saw a few of our grandchildren this week, and received a few pictures of those we didn't see:

We're looking forward to our next vacation--the Galapagos Islands.  We had most everyone who is going over for a last question and answer session with the travel agents.  Bruce and Glenn and Rosilene joined us on-line.
 

Caitlyn was pretty sick from her arthritis medicine this morning.  I ended up taking her to Instacare during Sunday School and Relief Society. Her Doctor and I are going to have a talk this week.  Becky says to get her off of Methyltrexate, that it's a terrible drug.  She felt better after an IV of anti-nausea medicine.

We ended the week with a big Easter dinner with most of the Family.  Crista and Elise and their families didn't make it today. We missed them.

We've been able to see our grandchildren off and on these past two weeks.  We've also been to the doctor's office a lot.  Roy had a 2nd opinion from Dr. Mike Mangleson.  He spent nearly an hour with us, and though he said basically the same things as the first doctor, he did give us another alternative (besides surgery) that Roy is thinking might be the way to go.  It's basically radiation therapy where the radiation goes directly into the prostate.  Dr. M. says he's had good results and the side effects are diminished.  Roy also saw the recommended oncologist who would do the treatment.  We are still waiting for some questions to be answered, such as "how fast is Roy's cancer progressing?" that will help us make a good decision.

Caitlyn is now on Methatrexate (?) I have no idea how it is spelled.  It's long been the drug to treat arthritis, I guess.  We have to try it first in order for the insurance company to kick in and pay for other options.  She will go back to the Dr. in a month to see how she's doing on this medication.  The main side effect is terrible nausea when she first takes the shot.  She takes folic acid to combat this, but last week she felt pretty horrible.  Hopefully she'll get used to it.

I finally received a calling.  I will be a Relief Society teacher.  I get to teach about every 5th Sunday. My first lesson is called "We look to Christ" and I am really looking forward to preparing it.  I'll let you know if I look forward to actually presenting the lesson.
Crista is the only March birthday in our immediate family, so, Happy Birthday a while ago, Crista.  (I didn't forget her, I promise--I took her out to lunch and brought her a present), and we have several coming up in April-

Happy Birthday to Finn and Hyeji on the 7th and the 8th.  We will be out of town, so I won't be writing a letter next week (April 9).

We have a couple of landscapers who are making good progress on our yard.  Well, they are making good progress on the days it doesn't rain.  Hopefully we will have sod by the time we get back from our spring break vacation.

Friday I spent the day at Nuttall's learning how to use rulers when I machine quilt.  The class was  a lot of fun. Friday evening Roy and I went to the Jazz game with the leaders of the Young Adult Stake.  President Whitworth from the stake presidency is the CEO for Miller Group and I assume he got a good deal for all of us.  We had a very nice dinner and the Jazz won, so that was good.
Of course, Saturday and Sunday we listened to General Conference.  It's always wonderful and uplifting.  I am excited to reread some of my favorites starting with Russell M Nelson's talk.
Sunday night we had everyone over for dinner and it was good, but absolutely chaotic at the same time.  We desperately need sod and a trampoline so the kids can play outside.
