Halloween

Roy decided to dress as a Cyborg once again.  This time he patched up the other eye.  Yay, he no longer sees floaters.  The vision in his right eye is also very clear, but he will need a new prescription because his left eye is a little blurry.

We were able to see all of the family that lives in Davis County for Halloween, and see pictures of the rest of the grandchildren.  The Green's didn't come over, but they had ball games in the morning, so we saw some of them-- Roy went to Finn's, then Oli's game, and Caitlyn and I walked over to Gunnar's--he was playing soccer right across the street from us.

Nick and Sara's Trick or Treaters

Ori and Avie were both Princess Elsa, Avie was the young princess Elsa, and Ori was the Elsa in Frozen II.  Effie was Poppie, from Trolls.  Everyone had a chance to try on the wig.  She loved it so much she wore it the whole morning at pre-school, even though she was dripping sweat by the time Sara picked her up.

Dallin and Roy make pretty good Poppies too!

Dan and Jieun's Trick or Treaters

It's obvious what Hyeji is, but I don't remember what character Doyeon is representing. Yuna is a policewoman, and Dojin is Batman.  He looks pretty tough.

Elise and Andy's Trick or Treaters

Elise's boys love Minecraft, as you can tell.  Beverly is a "crusty" Snow White, and Harvey--I think he's got a little pirate costume on, but I know he's enjoying being along for the ride.

Adrienne and AJ's Trick or Treaters

I need help.  I know Gunnar and Oli are dressed as some cool characters, but I can't remember how cool.  Finn is Luigi (I think) and Ila is Wonder Woman.

Crista and Matt's Trick or Treaters

Greta is dressed as Batgirl (?) and looks very pleased with her candy stash.  Ruby is Alana (?)
She looks a little worried about her candy stash, probably because Bridget is eyeing it.  Ruby is in the mask, but I didn't recognize her with the mask on and thought she was Greta.  Apparently she was Ariel for pre-school.  Bridget is the Leopard at the bottom.  We are looking forward to seeing what the first Vance boy will be for Halloween next year.
I'll be glad when masks are for Halloween again, and not the order of the day.  It's almost impossible to recognize people you see in the store, and it's also hard to hear when people talk through masks.

Dallin and Caitlyn didn't dress up, but they stayed and handed out the Halloween candy.  I'm positive Jennie and Jordan dressed up because they love Halloween, but they didn't share pictures, nor did they stop by.

                                        A few extra pictures

Yuna and Dallin

Gunnar at soccer.  He told me he really likes playing defense.

I think the Greens are almost done with the season.  They have done baseball, football, golf and soccer.  I wonder if their parents are burned out yet.

Finn playing soccer

Adrienne and Ila--watching soccer

Oli as Goalie.  I had the opportunity to play soccer
with Oli in his basement this past week.  He was goalie and player.
He's obviously gifted, I had a hard time getting goals,
even with Finn's help.  Oli told me that nobody has gotten a goal
on his team when he plays Goalie.  I believe him.

Mav: His pre-school created this spot for photo ops.  He
finally convinced mom to stop and take his picture.

Beverly,  Not crusty today!
This morning Roy and I vacillated about whether or not to attend church virtually or in person.  We decided with the numbers of Covid.19 going up, it might be well to remain at home.  We dressed for the sacrament anyway, so Caitlyn convinced us to come to church--she said Dan and his kids would miss us.  So, we saved Dan seats, and they never came--they must have decided that virtual was best with Jieun being pregnant.  Roy and I shared our testimonies.  I realized what a privilege it is to be able to attend church and to be able to stand at the pulpit and bear testimony.  We've been denied both of these privileges since March.  We've also been denied the privilege of attending the temple.  In some ways, it's been nice to be able to stay home and have less responsibilities, but as the Virus continues to spread, more and more we would like to be able to go back to our regular duties and daily life.

I know my Savior lives.  I know he is aware of all we are going through in this period of time and he desires for us to turn to Him for guidance, help and comfort.  I want my family to know that I know that Jesus is the Christ.  I also know that Russell M. Nelson is His prophet today.  I think we have all been witnesses to the timeliness of the revelations he's shared since he became prophet.  I know as we continue to strive to do the will of our Heavenly Father and our Savior, They will bless us and we can have joy--even amidst the trials of our day.  I love my family and I'm proud of all of you and your efforts.
